Turnout

Here at Solo Cavalli, we treat your horse as if it were our own.

We know that a comfortable, secure horse, is a happy horse, and we do all we can to ensure that the horses entrusted to us are happy and healthy.

We can accommodate almost any feeding requirement, from easy keepers to the most fimicky of appetites.

All of the horses either have access to hay at all times, (big round or square bales) or they will be fed three times during the day, with small square bales of fresh hay, and a final feed of hay at evening stable check.

Turnout is a daily routine, either in company, or individually (by arrangement). Horses are herd animals and usually like to have company in the paddocks, but we keep a careful eye out, making sure that there are no compatibility issues.

Naturally, turnout will be longer in the warmer months, when the weather is good and the days are longer, but we do everything we can to make sure that the horses are outside as long as possible, weather permitting.

We believe that keeping horses as close to their natural state is most beneficial for their mental and physical health, and by having the horses turned out regularly, there is less chance of stall vices, and less of a chance for joint and lung problems.

Board Includes:

Our feeding schedule includes a grain in the morning prior to turnout, followed by a generous amount of high quality hay in the turnout paddock. Paddocks with small groups have free choice hay during the winter months unless it is not in the horse’s best interest. A second grain feed and additional hay will be waiting in the stall when the horses are turned in. A final feed of hay wil be given at evening stable rounds, at 9PM daily. Supplements or specialty grain will be fed as per horse owners instructions and the additional costs will be the owner's responsibility.
